Royal Hotel Edmonton Airport, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

We’ve been booking the Royal Hotel, Leduc for years so we can arrive the night before a flight and avoid worrying about road conditions, wildlife or driving in the dark. It’s next to the airport, has a complimentary shuttle, spacious clean rooms and great food in both the dining room and Flight Deck Lounge. For a small fee, we can leave our vehicle in the lot during an extended vacation too. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. Recently, my wife’s flight out of province was cancelled and moved to another early morning flight the next day. We hurried back and spoke with Vandana, who was very accommodating and promptly arranged for us to keep our room. We got fresh towels, coffee, cups and topped-up hand soap. We enjoyed another day at the hotel, watching blowing snow swirl around the parking lot. Always wonderful service. See you next time.

We stayed three nights after booking through Booking.com. The staff asked which floor we preferred at check-in, which I appreciated since we like the main floors. We got room 132 with two queen beds. We’d travelled from Northwest Territories with meat, and they kindly kept our coolers in their freezers until we left. Housekeeping cleaned the room thoroughly every day. The shower had Dove products, so we didn’t need to bring toiletries. The beds were comfortable, and I even slept in a bit. The checkout staff were friendly and made small talk.

The food was great, although room service was very hard to reach and they forgot to include a fork with my steak. I’ll keep booking here. I’ve stayed before flights a few times, and it’s always clean and comfortable. The front desk staff are great and help me get ready for early flights. This time, my flight changed and I needed to move my reservation up by a day. There were some issues, but GM David was great. He sorted it out and changed the reservation.

We came back from vacation around 1:30 a.m. after leaving our vehicle here for a week. People were still up in the hallways, being loud, doing laundry and hanging out, and someone’s dog kept barking all night. When I mentioned it at the front desk, the blonde lady said I should have requested a quiet room. I don’t think I should have to ask for one. Quiet should be expected. Then we found our license plate had been stolen and replaced with a different one. The vehicle next to ours had no plate at all. The front desk said there were no cameras, though they apparently have security. They charged us to park there without having cameras. This place seems sketchy. I wouldn’t recommend it.
