L'Hostellerie Du Lac Noir

For anyone after peace and quiet, the location is ideal. The cell service nearby is fast and strong, though there isn't any Wi-Fi. The cottages are old but functional, with foot-operated toilets that drain into a septic tank. There are trails for hiking and places to pick mushrooms, and the Webber Kettle BBQs use charcoal. You can also bring a portable propane BBQ. My room got bright very early. The blinds were only hanging from their hooks, so I put a towel over the window to get enough darkness to sleep. That helped with the light, but hardly any cool air could get in. My concerns seem tied to the property being in transition. As I understand it, the previous management did only what was necessary and left improvements to the new owner. I sincerely think the new owners will make the changes that are needed.

Things were better under the previous owners. Since then, they've seemed pretty lost.

The owners were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We had a wonderful stay and will come back.
