The view is gorgeous, and the staff are helpful and easygoing. Our rooms could use a little work, but apart from that, we had a great week. One night we got back later than expected and everything was closed, so Zach cooked us a private dinner. Nicole was really friendly and helpful, and we’re planning to return this summer to enjoy the beautiful beach.

After a long day riding snowmobiles on the Saddlebag trip, we got to the Sands on Golden Lake after 5pm on Sunday. Zach checked us into our chalet and brought takeout to our door. Since it was Super Bowl Sunday, he also added complimentary chicken wings, saying, “You can't watch the Super Bowl without wings!” Everything we ate was excellent, and the chalet worked perfectly for us, with its big screen. There was a small grab-and-go breakfast in the morning, then we headed off across the lake on our snowmobiles. Thanks to Zach, Nicole, and the rest of the staff. We had a great time and will recommend the place to anyone riding in the area.

We had to go with the buffet since the only other breakfast option offered was a BLT sandwich. What happened to the menu? The food was cold, and the eggs were watery and cold too. Before that, we’d waited a little over 20 minutes just for tea and coffee, and they came in dirty mugs. We were told to sit wherever we wanted when we arrived, which was fine since there was only one other table occupied. This used to be our go-to when camping nearby, but never again.

Our evening turned into an overnight stay after a delicious supper with a breathtaking view from our table. Cloe was so pleasant and accommodating. The room was huge and very clean, with a balcony overlooking the lake. It’s a stunning spot for a family holiday, wedding, or honeymoon. I wish I’d known about it years ago. The rooms are lovely and the view is beautiful. The gentleman who served us dinner was very helpful and found gluten-free options for my husband. The outside areas of the hotel could use a wipe or a sweep.
