Thunderbird Motor Inn

We stayed here with my grandma and my two kids, and the room was a dump. It smelled of smoke, there were bugs crawling over the counter, and the carpet was so gross we didn't want to walk on it in our socks. We bought slippers at the dollar store just to feel okay moving around. Worse, my grandma paid a deposit, and we told the office we'd check out in the morning before it opened. They said that was fine and said they'd send the refund. Two months and weekly phone calls later, they were still making a big fuss about returning her money, and to this day we haven't got it. Keep an eye on your money here. I'd look somewhere else.

I didn't stay, so I can't really comment on the rooms or service. The location was the worst part, and I didn't feel safe getting out of the car or walking my dogs in the evening if I'd stayed. There were homeless people and people on drugs around, and I definitely don't recommend it.

My room was clean and comfortable, with a good shower, fridge, and microwave, and the beds were comfortable too. There's parking out front, and the place is close to the Cowichan Exhibition Grounds. It made getting to my event easy. A great place to stay when visiting Duncan.

The rooms were standard, and the value and location worked well for me. I had a blast with the kind of people I hang out with. The flags on the property say value, location, quality, and that was good enough for me. If you don't mind the riff raff in the neighborhood, it's a great spot. I'd stay again.
