I’ve come here three times over the past three years for five day courses. Each visit, the staff have been incredibly friendly and helpful, and the home cooked meals were fantastic. The rooms are clean and well equipped, though a bit dated. The lodge is wonderfully private and peaceful, with eagles overhead and hummingbirds buzzing about. There’s a short walk to the water and trails on site. Ladysmith is a 10 minute drive, and Nanaimo airport is 7 minutes away.
We were a group of 12 on a return visit and rented the cabin as extra space to spend time together, alongside our rooms. The grounds and gardens are beautiful, and the setting is quiet. Staff took great care of every request. It works really well for couples or bigger groups.
There’s plenty of room and the bed was extremely comfortable, though the lighting was sparse. We also found enough outlets for a whole family to charge their phones. Breakfast runs from 8-10 a.m., so anyone catching an early ferry won’t get breakfast.
Went kiwi picking here today. The kiwis were really nice, and I hadn’t tried that variety before. Beautiful place, with friendly and helpful staff.
Laurie, the manager, was great to work with for our wedding guests. She gave us a good price and was flexible about check in and check out times. Our wedding party and a few guests from out of town stayed at Kiwi Cove Lodge the night before and the night of the wedding. The place is quiet and clean, with comfortable beds. The furniture is dated, but cute and fits the low maintenance feel of the property. We also used the beautiful views in our wedding photos.
