Quality Hotel And Conference Centre Oshawa

The place used to be fine for our regular work stays and had everything you needed: a pool, gym, sauna, hot tub, and restaurant. Even then, the manager would hock on the lobby floor and regularly yell at staff. Now it smells of cigarettes, the tub barely drained during my shower, the fridge had black mold, my bed smelled of urine, and the carpets were damp. The very friendly cleaning staff from the next room promptly took care of the fridge mold. I have high hopes for the place once they hire a good contractor to fix the botched work. They dream of becoming a Marriott one day, but that's not happening anytime soon. Overpriced! The guy at the desk told us it was supply and demand. Felt like robbery. The place has been under construction for the past 3-4 years!

The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to help us. We were there with a hockey team and kids, and they even adjusted the buffet price for the children, which was amazing. The restaurant food was very good and fresh. There was a very bad smell in our room, a stain on the bed and I couldn't tell what it was or where it came from. The carpet was so unappealing I didn't want to walk on it. Still, the bathroom and bed sheets were clean. They really need to replace those old, smelly carpets and freshen up the walls.

After booking online and paying in full, I couldn't stay because I hadn't brought my credit card. They wouldn't take a cash deposit, debit, or Debit Visa. The website doesn't say you need a credit card at arrival, or that they don't accept Debit Visa. I didn't even want to stay after pulling into the lot and seeing the state of the place. The photos make it look like a beautiful hotel, but this was a complete construction zone, torn apart and a total write-off. There are no balconies, and the pool shown in the pictures and the hot tub were being ripped apart. The hot tub wasn't advertised at all. Nothing on the website warns guests about the severe construction. Renovations happen, but this should have been posted. Worst experience ever.

Our room smelled awful when we arrived, and some of the linens clearly hadn't been washed before check-in. The hotel is under construction, which understandably makes it look less appealing, and that's forgivable. This still wasn't a good stay, though. I'm usually an easy customer, but I'd need to see changes before considering a return.
