Winterlude brought us to Ottawa for two nights, and staying at Auberge Des Arts felt relaxed and welcoming, almost like being at home. The house is much more spacious and clean than its exterior suggests, and the historic curb appeal is lovely. We met some other guests, and everyone had the same glowing things to say about our host. The friendliest person ever, and he cooked a tasty breakfast just how we liked it before we went out exploring. We packed a lot into the trip: the 2026 Winterlude event showcasing the Barbegezi with a snowmobile flying 50ft in the air, ice sculptures, skating on the Rideau Canal, a Parliament tour with the immersion experience, and live bands at Rainbow Bistro, Hearts & Krown, and El Furniture Warehouse. El Furniture Warehouse also had affordable burgers, tacos, drinks, and more. All of it was within a couple minutes' walk of Auberg Des Arts. I wish we'd been able to stay another night. For a winter visit, be ready for -25 degree Celsius temperatures. Bring ski goggles, several face masks, scarves, sunglasses, Merino wool base layers, a wind proof outer shell such as ski pants, a winter parka and several pairs of gloves in case you lose one. Keep all your skin covered and you'll be comfortable.

Pierre was a great host, serving breakfast each morning and sharing lots of information about Ottawa. The room had everything we needed, and the house felt comfortable. I even spent a while just looking at the wallpaper. It has real vibes. Skating was a paradise, though Rideau Hall not providing information about the rink closure was a frustration unrelated to Auberge des Arts.

Pierre at Auberge Des Arts was a pleasure to meet and a huge help with planning my itinerary. He pointed me toward places to eat and visit, and told me about events and festivals, including a fireworks display. The breakfasts he made were delicious. I loved my stay, and the location was fantastic, around 15-20 min from every major attraction. If I'm ever in Ottawa again, I'll stay here.

This little B&B is a real gem, right in the market district. It's a short walk to the art museum, parliament and a great park. The host was incredibly friendly, knew the area well, and helped us plan our day. Breakfast was delicious, and every amenity we could need was provided.

The rooms, dining area and bathroom were spotless, and the bed was really comfortable. There was free fruit too, which was a lovely touch. Pierre made my family and me feel at home from the moment we arrived. He explained the main sights in great detail, gave us a map and suggested activities. We went to a horse show that day and had a great time. The breakfast was delicious, with several options to choose from, and everything we tried was excellent. Everything is close by, about a 10-15 minute walk to the museum, market, Parliament and park. Pierre even drove us to our bus stop at the end of the stay. He's such a kind and charming host. I'm so glad we stayed here as a family and will definitely come back to Ottawa. Pierre, honestly 11/10!
