Lord Elgin Hotel

Amanda made our 7 AM arrival much easier by arranging an early check-in and explaining everything clearly. I’d asked because last-minute travel changes brought us to Ottawa early, but didn’t expect the room to be ready right then. The team also surprised us with an upgrade, a handwritten anniversary card, and a complimentary cheesecake for our two-night anniversary stay at the Lord Elgin Hotel. The staff were warm and helpful throughout, and we felt well looked after. It’s very conveniently placed downtown, just minutes from Parliament and easy to explore on foot. We loved the stay and the thoughtful touches made the anniversary trip memorable.

I was comfortable here, and every team member made me feel welcome. Bich especially went out of her way to make sure I had what I needed and even gave me a small gift on my last day. That hospitality has me looking forward to coming back.

We hosted our Globus Tours event in the Trillium Ballroom and were delighted with how adaptable the venue was to our needs. The team looked after our guests, and we could present easily and enjoy an engaging evening with the group. The hotel staff also took wonderful care of us overnight, and the renovations look great. I’ll put this venue near the top of the list for our next event in the area.

The pool was clean and well maintained, a lovely place to unwind, and the location made getting around easy since it’s close to everything. My room was comfortable and clean, though the window looked straight at another building. The coffee machine worked, but I’d have preferred a kettle, and there was no bottled water. I did appreciate the small extras, including soap, mouthwash, and shoe polish. Housekeeping stopped by later in the afternoon. The maid looked tired, so I told her not to worry about cleaning the room. She was polite and hardworking. Not a perfect stay, but pleasant enough for a short visit.
