Mac Bed and Breakfast

MAC B&B is conveniently located for getting to either the airport or the city. We arrived late in the evening and were welcomed by someone who turned out to be a talented, intelligent, committed celebrity and musician. His hospitality made us feel at home. We’ll definitely return to MAC B&B, and I highly encourage others to stay there too.

This was the worst room reservation I’ve ever made. There was no fan, and the air conditioning didn’t work properly, so when it got hot at night I had to fan myself with my shirt. The door frame was falling apart, and there was no remote for the television. The fridge was dirty, and the duvet was off-white from overuse. From the moment you enter the facility, you’re being monitored.

The room smelled of Lysol, had unemptied garbage, and the toilet roll was nearly gone. There were also two shower loofahs left by previous guests, or from who knows when. I felt very uncomfortable: a dim red light was on in the room, and massage tables were folded at the end of the bedroom. I didn’t stay for the nights I’d booked and left for somewhere else. The owner told me I couldn’t get a refund.

Mushfiq's musical abode in the basement is what makes Mac b and b special. His music feels like food for the soul, and I definitely recommend the place. It was my first trip to Ottawa, but staying here didn’t feel like a first visit. The host was wonderful, friendly, and easy to approach, going out of his way to make me comfortable.
