Richmond Plaza Motel

This place is a basic motel, nowhere near a Star ⭐️ rating system. The air conditioning works, there’s a flat screen telly, and the queen size bed was comfortable. If you’re travelling on a motorbike, it’s a good fit: the rooms have tile floors, so you can lock up your boots and bring in your kit. I was being generous when I gave it 2 stars.

It was a bit hard to find as a stranger, but check-in went very well and the staff were friendly. We had room 15, with an entrance separate from the others. It had a flat screen, fridge, microwave and air conditioning. The bathroom was clean. Though it was a non-smoking room, it smelled a little like cigarettes. LCBO and a grocery store are just around the corner.

During our first week here, we came across a lot of needles and pipes, which really didn’t impress us. Maintenance is poor, the Wi-Fi barely works, and there’s never hot water. Staff are less than professional, and there’s constant screaming from guests who bring their whole family, sometimes 8 people in one room. This place used to be so nice. I wish they’d put in the effort to clean it up and keep everything up to standard.

I’ve lived here a long time. The toilet got blocked and stopped working, but reception cancelled the plumber, and we’ve been without a toilet for one months ago. This is a very bad motel.
