Panorama Mountain Resort - Ski Tip Tamarack Condos

The views are really good, and apparently ski sailing is allowed, see pic. People had told me to skip Panorama for more challenging resorts with better conditions, but after skiing here for three days, I found it had all the challenges of larger, well known places. The snow was hard packed, yet I could still carve all over the mountain, including on the bumps. Conditions change all the time, as they do at any resort.

Our room was spacious and clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. There are several room types to choose from, though checking in can be confusing. You need to stop at the main check-in building as soon as you enter the area, on the right, before continuing up the hill. Each unit has its own hot tub and sauna, but we liked the main pool area best. Kids can visit the adventure place, and there are some walkways at the bottom of the village. The gondola is quick and easy to ride, and there are a few restaurants. Parking spaces can be tight, and the upper lot is often full. We love Panorama, and the mountain is great for skiing, with plenty of places to go and usually lots of snow.

Reception was friendly and efficient, with everything ready for us when we arrived. The condos in Toby Creek Lodge are basic, but roomy, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Having two bathrooms was convenient, as was the grocery store in the same building. It’s easy to reach the upper village and ski lifts on the village gondola. After a day skiing, we appreciated having several hot tubs and pools around the resort to choose from.

We got two bluebird days in a row, and the summit views were lovely. It wasn’t too busy, and the RFID lift tag system worked well for us without any issues. You can return the card for a $5 deposit. There wasn’t much snow this time of year, but I hope to come back when conditions are better. A nice spot.
