The view carries a lot of the experience, and the recent renovation looks nice. Rooms and common areas were clean, and the price felt fair for what you get. Still, we wouldn't return. For a little more money, we could find somewhere quieter and more polished. Noise was our main problem. Sounds travel through the rooms and hallways, so it didn't feel like the peaceful getaway we'd hoped for. Better insulation would have made a big difference. When we raised the noise at checkout, the staff made it clear they knew about it, but offered no empathy or apology. The building still feels cheap and somewhat empty despite the updates, with a layout and atmosphere that have a 1970s motel vibe. The location felt odd, tucked behind the mini putt and a bit off the main path, mildly sketchy rather than cozy or destination-worthy. Staff were reasonable and professional, though not especially warm. The food didn't leave much of an impression. Fine for a budget stay with a view, but not if you're after peace, charm, or a real getaway.

The hotel rooms were lovely, with thoughtful extras and incredible ocean views, and everyone enjoyed the food. We had good service both in the lounge and dining room, and the catering and restaurant menus were well received. During our two-day Board of Director retreat for 12 professionals, the private, spacious meeting room worked well, and in-room foodservice was efficient without disrupting us. Planning with the team and the onsite event both exceeded my expectations. A shout-out to the hospitable, funny front desk team, and to Matt, Jamie, and Naoko, who I worked with directly. I highly recommend the Bayside.

Booking directly with the hotel cost much less than the booking sites. My room was clean and quiet, with an ocean view and everything I needed. The front desk staff were really helpful. This may be one of my favourite hotels on the island.

The room was nice and clean, the ocean view was beautiful, and I enjoyed the restaurant. The pool and hot tub were fantastic too. Noise insulation isn't great, as others have said, but luckily it stayed fairly quiet during our visit. The bed was the problem for me. After just one night, I was in pain, and it has lasted a couple of days so far. Because of that, I probably wouldn't stay again.
