Travelodge Parksville

The place was very clean, with large rooms and a lovely smell throughout. By car, the location works well, and it’s near the beach. The cleaning and janitorial staff were especially friendly. There are a few things that could be better. Noise comes through the walls and from outside, and the pool is only 3 feet deep, which makes swimming difficult. When we asked the check-in staff about some accommodations, they weren’t very solution oriented. Getting into the gym is a bit odd: you have to pick up a key at the front desk, then walk through the pool and hot tub area. The buffet wasn’t pleasant either. The room is small, and scrambled eggs were the only protein option.

We had a quick trip with our grandchildren and really enjoyed it. The pool was just 3 feet deep, which was perfect for the little ones, and the breakfast room felt lovely and cozy. There was plenty of continental breakfast to choose from. The hotel was clean, and the staff were professional, kind, and helpful. They’re still in a bit of a transition with new staff and renovations, but we had an excellent stay and will definitely return.

The location is good and it wasn’t too busy. It’s close to the beach and park, and the washroom and shower were spotless. The cleaning crew did a great job and deserve a bonus. Breakfast was okay, mostly carbs and sugars, and runs from 7am till 10am. The pool is 3ft all around, with no shallow section.

The hallway laundry setup means people are constantly waiting outside my door, since the washer and dryer are basically right out front. I can also hear everything the person in the next room is doing through a door that connects our rooms for no reason. It’s creepy and gross, and the front desk is never there. There’s a strong chlorine smell from the pool as soon as you walk in, until you get to your room. The water pressure is absolutely horrible, the bathroom fan doesn’t work, and the elevator is so slow it makes me want to kick the buttons until the door closes. Holes and damage in the bathroom are stuffed with toilet paper. The tub is so uncomfortable I can’t imagine anyone using it. The AC won’t turn off with its power button, so you have to force it off manually. Just don’t stay here. It’s a dump.
