I’ve stayed at this location many times for work and had good experiences before, with a nice breakfast and friendly staff. I’m a Best Western Diamond member and always give my membership card at check-in so I can earn points, even when my office books the room. I’ve never had a problem with this at other locations or here in the past. On this stay, the manager said he couldn’t add my membership unless he had approval from my office. My office emailed and called to give permission, and he confirmed he would enter it. A couple of weeks later, the points still hadn’t come through. Best Western’s head office told me my membership had never been entered. I called the hotel and the same manager said he had entered it and asked me to check again in a few days. A week later, head office gave me the same answer. A woman there kindly added my information herself, and the points were credited. When I called the manager to ask why he hadn’t entered it, he changed his attitude, said there was nothing he could do, and hung up. He lied to me. I won’t stay at this location again.

Heather at the front desk was warm and wonderful when we checked in, and the breakfast staff were helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was delicious too. We had a two-bedroom suite for four adults and two kids. It was a tight fit, but fine for just one night. The pool was out of service, though they let us know a few days ahead, which we appreciated.

Breakfast was decent, and check-in and check-out both went smoothly. But the room, though spacious enough, felt very dated, and I found a bug in the bed. The patio door was really hard to open, and from the ground floor we could hear everything upstairs. The pool was closed, and there was what looked like a lot of raccoon droppings in the courtyard. The grounds and courtyard might once have made this a nice hotel, but the stay was disappointing. Terrible price for what you get. What happened to Best Western?

We come back every year for our Apex resort trip and always enjoy the pool and hot tub here. There’s lots of choice at breakfast, and the service is always great. We love this place.

Two days before we were due to arrive, we got an email saying the pool and hot tub were closed for renovations. They’d already been shut and were scheduled to stay that way for the next month. I booked online while they were closed, but there was nothing about it on the website. Nobody apologized, and now I’m scrambling to find another hotel. We had another Best Western booked later in the trip, so I canceled both and won’t support them again.
