Chalet Du Pic A L'Aurore

The peaceful setting up on the mountain was a highlight, with wonderful views over Perce, the ocean, nearby islands and cliffs. It felt quiet and restorative, and my dad and I are already looking forward to another visit. We stayed three nights in the early first week of June 2024. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the price was very good. Our room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and it had the basics, including a kitchenette and a wood stove. I liked the rustic wooden finishes and sitting on the porch in the morning and evening. The main town was within a reasonable walk, or about a two minute drive to restaurants and other amenities. Au Pic de l'Aurore made a great nature getaway.

The room was outdated, and there were no cups or utensils, so I couldn’t make coffee. There were also big ants in the bathroom. The man was rude from the moment we checked in. The door locks automatically behind you, so you need to take your keys even to go to the car or sit outside. The office closes at 10pm, which means getting locked out after that could leave you sleeping in your car. I expected to see Percy rock, but it isn’t visible from most rooms or the lookouts. I paid the 75$ dog fee, which I understood would be reimbursed if there was no damage. My dog is well behaved and never allowed on furniture. After checkout, the money wasn’t returned. The manager was rude when I called, and when I said I had time stamped photos of the room as I left it, he wouldn’t look at them or provide evidence of damage. Very disappointing. I didn’t threaten to cause problems. I politely said, “thank you I will leave a review of my experience”

We loved the balcony outlook over Perce Rock, and the motel was cozy with plenty of space. It was quiet at night, away from the downtown area, but still easy to get around by car or on foot. The staff were professional and fully bilingual. A great place for our vacation last week. I’d recommend booking well ahead of the summer season.

From the balcony we could see percé. There were seals to spot in the morning, and at night the sky was full of stars. The staff were kind, and the place was clean, with everything we needed for our stay, from coffee to towels. We’ll definitely come back.
