The location is 10/10, right on the main strip among the restaurants, boutiques, cafes and gift shops. My partner and I spent one night here before seeing the gannets on bonaventure island the next day. Booking and confirmation by text and email felt professional and reassuring. We entered our bedroom with a door code, and found an impeccably clean room with a super comfortable bed, private bathroom and mini fridge. There’s a cute shared spot for eating, a basic kitchen with toaster, microwave and coffee maker, and a nice front patio where you can watch the ocean. The common areas also have books and a few board games, plus an attached boutique with interesting things. We were grateful that Pierre Luc let us use the bicycle. Riding along the waterfront boardwalk at night was really pleasant and fun. I’d recommend this lovely, charming place to anyone staying in Percé.

A real sweat box. We stayed during a recent heat wave and discovered on arrival that the rooms had no air conditioner. We texted the owner, who asked if the window was open. It was open as far as it would go, but the top hinged storm window only opens about 5”, blocking any breeze. No one is on site, so a staff member brought a fan, which mostly pushed hot air around. The temperature only got down to 26C the first night and 29C the second. After two sleepless nights, on the third day we were asked if we wanted a portable air conditioner installed in our room. I’m surprised the new owner didn’t come to the property to check on guest comfort and install an A/C unit. Looking around, the grass wasn’t cut and shrubs weren’t trimmed, so the place seemed neglected. I do not recommend staying at Chez Rose Belaid.
