The Scotsman Inn

The inn is within walking distance of everything a tourist could want, and Caribou Beach is a short drive away. Sandy kindly booked us dinner at Tilly's Kitchen in nearby New Glasgow, which was amazing. His food recommendations are worth listening to. Sandy and Cathy made us feel like friends, inviting us to the lovely back deck for a welcome drink and a chance to visit with the other guests. The inn itself is beautiful, the rooms comfortable, and the breakfast dining area just right. Sandy's white-glove service is impeccable. There's no elevator, which the hosts communicate openly about, but each floor has what you need, including a shared fridge and coffee maker. We happen to like stairs. Highly recommend staying here in Pictou. We'll be back!

Everything was clearly explained when we booked through booking.ca, so there were no surprises about what the Inn offers. We had a memorable night at the Scotsman Inn, even though we stayed only one night. Sandy is funny, and the hosts are lovely; he also gave us good ideas for dining and sightseeing. Our room was spotlessly clean, with cozy, elegant decor and a comfortable king bed. The whole place felt very boutique. We’d definitely stay here again if we return to Pictou.

A word of caution about the stairs: if you're on the top floor, you'll need to carry your luggage up. Otherwise, they’ve thought of so many comforts, from fancy French L'Occitane bathroom products to USB plugs beside the bed. Sandy even serves breakie in his kilt, which is worth the price of admission on its own! Sandy and Cathy deliver the friendliest professional service, with pristine rooms, a scrumptious breakfast, and large, comfortable rooms with luxurious amenities. The antique interior feels cozy but elevated, and the back deck is adorable for sharing a glass of wine with other guests. This is what five-star hospitality is about. Highly recommend The Scotsman!!!

We could have stayed much longer at the charming Scotsman. It's a minute's walk from the Pictou waterfront, with shops and restaurants close by. The rooms are well appointed, and there's a lovely patio where you can mingle with other travellers if you feel like it. Sandy's knowledge made for great custom itinerary suggestions. Breakfast included locally grown blueberries and freshly baked croissants. I was also delighted to find my favourite L’Occitane body and bath products. Thank you, Cathy! Such a great stay with Sandy and Cathy.
