The staff were really kind and helpful, and with renovations this could be an awesome hotel. Right now, though, the place needs a lot of love. For what they charge, there should at least be a light over the sink. The dirty shower curtain kept sticking to me while I showered. Gross.

After Air Canada stranded us, we had to drive ten hours to catch the ferry to the mainland. This hotel made a great stop. The front desk staff were polite and kind, and the rooms were big, quiet, clean, and stocked with lots of towels. We slept well, and breakfast was probably the best we’ve had in decades. Get the St Christopher special, it’s a huge amount of food. Compliments to the cook and dining room staff. Air Canada may have delayed us, but we got to see some stunning views, and our travel agent found a great hotel. I’d give it ten stars if I could.

The hotel is clean and friendly, and the location is perfect for the ferry. But the restaurant has problems with staffing and friendliness. We waited 20 minutes before anyone came to our table, and when I complained about my food, the server got quite rude. They’ve stopped serving breakfast because there aren’t enough staff. There’s a Tim Hortons down the road, though by the time you get through the very long daily line, there may not be much food left. I really think fixing these issues could make this an easy four star hotel.

The front desk was fantastic, the place super clean, the beds comfortable, and the food pretty good. The restaurant staff need to leave the negativity at the door, though. Both times we went, they quickly told us the kitchen was backed up and food would take at least an hour, then sighed and led us to a table. We waited at least five minutes for water and another five for a drink order, but our food was ready by the time we finished our drinks. Instead of blaming the kitchen, make the most of guests who are ready to have a couple of drinks, and greet them with a smile.

August 24-28. We had a good stay and the hotel was lovely for our family. We had one room with a kitchen and another with two queen beds, and it was great being close to the music and the ferry. The restaurant waitress was snippy and seemed overwhelmed, even though the place wasn’t half full. A male waiter helped her with some tables, and even getting cutlery seemed to stress her out. The other issue was Wi-Fi. The front desk said it was bad, but we didn’t realize it was mostly nonexistent, so we all had to use our data. That sucked.
