The room was nice and pet friendly, and the service was good while renovations were going on. The location was okay, but there was hardly anywhere to walk the dog. It also seemed odd that there was no coffee at the front desk. Still, we had a pretty good stay.

I was nervous about the location and the reviews, but check-in was easy. The lobby smelled fresh, and the front desk woman was polite, efficient, and helpful. There was plenty of parking. My room, number 111, was near the parking lot so I’d have less walking while unloading, though I thought it might be noisy. It wasn’t echoey or loud. The doors face an inner courtyard, so you can’t park right in front of your room. The room had new laminate flooring, bathroom tile, and a deep soaker tub. The bed was comfortable, and I liked having pillows with two different softness levels. There was a microwave and fridge, plus a small TV by today’s standards, but it was fine. Checkout was easy too. I took my dogs out at midnight and again at 5 in the morning. It was dark and there wasn’t a real grassy area for them to romp, so I was a bit nervous. Walking up and down the road toward the convention center, I saw security staff, and there was a police car taking a break across the street at Tim Hortons. I felt safe. Homeless people were around in daylight, but mostly kept to themselves and seemed cheerful. I’d recommend this place for a convention or a family stay, with an ice rink, public pool, and library right there.

The room itself was okay, but the front desk clerk was rude and had poor customer service. I’d left an expensive item behind and couldn’t get back into the room because it was booked under my friend’s name. After begging, I finally got access two hours later. The clerk stayed sassy and unapologetic. It delayed my trip home, and I had a four-hour drive ahead. After this experience, I won’t stay here again.

The room looked standard and reasonably priced at first, but I was glad we only booked one night. The area had a lot of homeless people, and some staying in rooms near ours kept us awake all night with shouting, banging, and screaming. We also saw someone injecting outside our window and masturbating. In the morning, we spotted bedbugs on my friend’s bed beside mine. We checked out as fast as we could, though we did get half the night’s money back.

I first planned three nights in P.G., then my plans changed and I booked two more. Customer service was top notch, and I really appreciated that safety was a priority. The hotel is central for shopping and dining. Thanks to everyone, I’ll keep it on my list of places to visit again.
