There's a bar and restaurant just off the lobby, with pretty good food at regular pub prices. The location is central, and there's a liquor store and grocery store across the road. I was told theft had been an issue, but we had no problems ourselves. The rooms were clean and quiet, the atmosphere comfortable, and the staff friendly. Lots of rooms here. Overall, we were satisfied with the stay.

The decor is dated, and there was hardly anyone around besides one lonely drunk at the bar. We were only hoping for a warm meal, so the steak we got was a lovely surprise. It was one of the best we'd had in a very long time.

After a long week of tiring medical appointments two provinces from home, we stopped here on our way back and were extremely disappointed by the cleanliness. The lounge was noisy, and we could hear people partying late into the night. The floors hadn't been vacuumed, the toilet wasn't properly cleaned, with poop and pee stains, and the place was very, very dusty. We were almost afraid to sleep in the beds in case they hadn't been cleaned properly either. I'd post pictures if I could.

I like staying at independent places when I travel, and I've found some real hidden gems that way. This one is old and past its prime, with plenty of stories, but it won't suit everyone. The bed was semi-comfortable, and the bathroom was only as clean as the person cleaning it could get it. I didn't notice until morning that the A/C unit was framed by a piece of wood covered in mold. It was quiet at night apart from two trains passing. If you're there for work, just need a place to get up and go for a day or two, and don't care about certain things, this might be your place.

For the price, this was amazing. The hardwood floors and big, comfy beds with thick blankets and lots of pillows were great. The shower was amazing too, and the attached lounge and restaurant had amazing food.
