The price didn’t feel justified by the stay. The shower water stayed lukewarm the whole time, and because the shower is open, it made for cold showers. I told management, but nothing changed. Loud club music from the bar next door carried clearly into the room, so I wouldn’t stay here if you need to sleep before midnight or get up early. They left one Nespresso pod and didn’t replenish it. I’m not convinced this deserves the “boutique” label. The rooms don’t have a more stylish design or higher-end materials and bedding than a chain hotel. There’s no physical concierge either, so you need a door code to get in. It wasn’t the worst hotel, but the value just wasn’t there. After I posted this, the hotel offered me a small discount, which I’d expected before the review for an issue like the lack of hot water. They later said it depended on my taking down the review. When I refused, they said they wouldn’t release the security deposit hold on my card unless I did. That felt very shady. I wouldn’t trust the Google rating after this, since it seemed like they were trying to bribe people to remove bad reviews.

The Ophelia was a lovely, quiet place to stay, and everything in our room was spotless and in perfect order. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, and the old city is about a 10-minute walk away. Our room, 103, was modern and spacious, with a comfortable bed facing away from Grand Alle, on the quiet back side of the hotel. The shower was beautiful, and we’d never seen an automatic toilet like that before, but we thought it was spectacular. We stayed three nights at the end of Winter Carnaval. Peter was at the desk when we arrived and kindly helped with our luggage, which was a real help in the cold and snow. My one suggestion is to put a boot tray outside each room in the colder months to keep snow and ice out. It was an outstanding stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a smaller, quiet, intimate place.

The location was convenient, and the staff were friendly and polite, but the stay didn’t meet my expectations for a four-star boutique hotel. While text support was available, staff weren’t consistently on hand to help promptly. Renovations to the bathroom in the unit directly below mine meant I had to move to a smaller room, which was frustrating. There was also an unpleasant smell in both the room and shared areas that made me uncomfortable. The hotel has potential, but service and maintenance need attention to meet four-star expectations.

Norman, the manager, and his staff were clearly focused on taking care of guests, and the service was the best we’ve had. Our room was clean, modern, quiet, and very comfortable. Restaurant Ophelia was so good that we didn’t want to eat anywhere else. The steaks, filet, and fish were great, and the service there was outstanding too. Best hotel experience we’ve had in over 25 years.

We especially appreciated how thoughtful Norman at the front desk was. He helped us choose restaurants and even replaced the ice packs in my room after noticing I needed ice for a hand injury. The woman at the desk was just as fabulous, and I’m sorry I can’t remember her name. Service was top notch, and we loved the hotel’s style. This little gem came up in a Google search, and we were so glad we found it. The location made it easy to get around. It’s a new hotel with only six rooms. Ours was on the small side, but for two adults it was fine, with enough bathroom space and places for our things. The rooms were beautiful and extremely comfortable. We also had dinner at Ophelia, the restaurant with the same name as the hotel, before our early departure. The food was very good, and Gabriel was a fantastic waiter.
