Canadas Best Value Inn & Suites Vernon

We booked three rooms for two weeks for an out-of-town project, and spent $5,400 on what turned into a health and safety nightmare. Within hours of checking in, my staff called to say they refused to stay. The rooms were disgusting, with dirty surfaces, stained linens, and what appeared to be bed bugs. People openly loitered around the building at all hours, and the property felt unsafe. That same day I emailed Expedia, said I was willing to pay for the first night, and requested a refund for the rest. It was denied. Given the condition of our rooms and the many similar complaints from other reviewers, I believe the hotel is failing basic cleanliness and guest safety standards. I'll be reporting it to the local health authority and sharing our photos and timelines. Travelers, especially families and work crews, should book elsewhere.

We stayed three nights and really loved it. The manager was welcoming, and the place was so nice and clean. Staff seemed to spend plenty of time keeping the pool and hot tub area clean and well maintained. We were happy to find the BBQ area and use it, too. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance. We'll definitely come back.

The A/C was very loud, but it did keep the room cool. The room itself was dirty and rough, with peeling paint, lifting flooring, and a bathroom that was awful. The tub was peeling, with chips of something all over, and the lights didn't work. Exposed electrical wiring was scary. Staff were never around when we needed them, and when they were there, they parked out front and blocked people from coming and going. For another $50, you could sleep comfortably and not feel disgusted, so I'd suggest spending that extra amount.

The staff were good, but the room wasn't. The freezer was unusable, and the bathtub was badly worn with a stain set into it. They used water bottles as ashtrays. I was disappointed to learn there was no longer free breakfast included.
