Sandman Hotel Vernon

Bhuwan Kandel has been incredibly helpful and accommodating, and the staff and manager are awesome. The beds and pillows are sooo comfortable, and I loved the showerhead. The rooms are clean too. It’s a great place to kick back and relax.

The manager was excellent and very caring, and I appreciated having a microwave. The utilities provided were nice. But even though the hotel was very close to the event I was attending, the service wasn’t good. The front desk lady was passive aggressive and stopped helping me halfway through our conversation to assist someone else, then spent 15 minutes with him. I’m a minor, and there were “difficulties” getting permission to use my sister’s credit card even though she’d called ahead. After 30 minutes trying to sort out the room, I finally got one at the far end of the hotel. When I arrived, there were stains on the bedsheets that looked like pop. They’d already taken an extra hour to set up my room, and since I was only there for one night, I didn’t want to risk being kicked out while they changed the sheets. I would’ve appreciated more kindness from the secretary and clean sheets.

Khaled made sure we had a great time at the Sandman, and I’m incredibly glad we chose it for a surprise birthday party for my fiance. He surprised us with an upgraded room, a sparkly decoration and card, a chocolate bar, a $20 paper for Denny’s and other restaurants, and what I think were lobby drinks and snacks. He also gave us a Mr Mikes Steakhouse card for a free appetizer. The staff were so kind, and Khaled did everything he could to make the weekend special. The rooms were beautiful and cozy. The shower was lovely, with perfect pressure and hot water that came on fast. The beds were SOOOO comfy, and we slept like babies. The rectangular pool was a nice temperature, with a cozy couch for anyone who didn’t want to swim or just wanted somewhere to hang out. We had the pool to ourselves and were absolute hooligans playing. If staff were watching, I hope you enjoyed the show! It was handy having Denny’s connected to the hotel. We ate breakfast and dinner there, and the staff were great. I’d forgotten plates and cutlery, but they kindly gave me takeout boxes and cutlery, which worked perfectly. Parking was the tricky part. The spots by the hotel were tight, though the diagonal spots were easier to back out of. We had an amazing weekend and will be back soon. We spent six nights at the Sandman hotel in Vernon, BC, and the whole staff showed the same warmth and enthusiasm as Mr. Ali. Khaled Ali, the General Manager, greeted us warmly when we arrived. We travel with our Golden Retriever, Rosie, and he welcomed her with treats, snuggles, and lots of enthusiasm. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was the best we’ve ever had, with a great shower head, plenty of hot water, and amazing pressure. There was lots of parking, and Denny’s is attached to the hotel. We’d highly recommend staying here in Vernon.
