High Point Resort

The community invited guests to a birthday celebration and shared food, which was a lovely part of my stay. My room was clean and well kept, and the kitchenette had everything I needed. The view was nice, and it’s close to the ferry. The manager and staff were warm and super friendly. I stayed last weekend and would happily come back. A nice little hidden gem. There was a strong chemical smell in the room, and I started feeling it in my throat. I don’t know if it was cleaning product or something they were trying to deal with, like pests or mold, but I couldn’t sleep. This is the worst hotel experience I’ve had. At check-in, nobody was around, so we had to call and wait for the receptionist to come. I doubt anyone will be at reception in the morning if I need to ask about this. I can’t wait to get out of here. Don’t book here!

The location worked well for exploring Quadra Island and taking day trips to Campbell River. We also caught a stunning sunset over the ferry terminal one evening. Our room was spotless and exceptionally spacious, with lots of comfort, and the heated pool was clean and well maintained. We had an excellent stay and would highly recommend it for the convenience and scenery.

The staff were nice, but I rarely saw them around, and the common room was usually locked. The BBQ was talked up, then became pay-to-use, and later guests weren't allowed to use it. Why? Still, I liked the place. The pool and room were clean and modern, which matters. The location is great if you're walking from the ferry, though you miss the sunset.
