Home2 Suites By Hilton Quebec City

The pool was warm and very clean, and breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable. Our room was quiet, clean, and fantastic for a hockey weekend at Home2 Suites. Some of our team stayed down the road at the Travel Lodge and had a terrible time, with rude staff, a dirty, old hotel, and kids who weren’t allowed to play or do anything there.

With free, ample parking and grocery stores like Walmart, Maxi, and Super C nearby, getting around and picking up supplies was easy. Boston Pizza, McDonald’s, and Tim Hortons are also close, and there’s an arcade for kids about 500 meters away. Bora Parc is around 22 minutes away and Mega Parc about 9, so the location worked well for activities. I came from Montreal for my first visit to Quebec City. We took the train, and from Ste-Foy train station the ride is roughly 15 minutes, depending on traffic. The hotel itself was clean, spacious, and felt up to international standards. Staff were bilingual. Entry requires a key card, including access to the building, and the elevators looked modern. Breakfast gets 4/5 from me. The selection was somewhat limited, though the mix of hot and cold buffet food was enough. The pool is handy but small for the number of rooms and guests. There’s a decent-sized gym, plus a laundry room. I wish there were one on each floor, since going downstairs and waiting was inconvenient. The machines could use an upgrade too. Without a quick wash setting, it was hard to tell exactly how long a wash or dry cycle would take.

The staff were nice and the hotel is in a good location, and the rooms are large and modern with AC and heat that worked well. Still, I wouldn’t recommend staying here or return myself. The first room had a very dirty bathroom; the next had hair on the bed and floor. It was late, so I gave up on asking to move a second time. I also couldn’t get the internet to connect. Parking fills up, especially at night, and there were only a few spaces left on the weekend. Just so you know, some staff don’t speak English.

I’ve been coming here every week for work for six months, and it’s been amazing. The rooms are spacious and really well equipped, breakfast is good, and the hotel is super clean. I’ve tried other hotels in the area, and this one is farrrrrr the best. A special thank you to Khaoulla and Houde for always being so welcoming and nice :)
