Seeing the ice castle from the hotel was a highlight of our bucket-list trip for Carnaval. The location turned out to be even better than we expected, and our room was beautiful with a very comfortable bed. Communication was always fast and efficient. Nancy at the front desk was kind, professional, and helpful, and ran things so well. Breakfast was wonderful too. The young man making crepes and drinks, cleaning, and restocking was great. I can’t say enough good things about the hotel, the staff, and Quebec City.

The location is great, and breakfast was what I’d expect from a European-style buffet: good breads, boiled eggs, and a little fruit. The dining room felt crowded and a bit shabby, though. Service was neither good nor bad, and the photos oversell the property somewhat. Our Deluxe room was a decent size, with a good bathroom and temperature controls, so it suited a European-style boutique hotel. But it sat between the breakfast bar and kitchen. People would see us leaving and repeatedly mutter, “Well that’s weird.” It was weird. The courtyard fire escape was our “view,” and it stayed lit; the curtains didn’t block all the light either. With a rate over $300 a night, the room’s location didn’t feel boutique. Reviews seem mixed on room quality, with some mentioning tiny rooms. I’d avoid anything below Deluxe, and double-check which room you’re getting, especially for a special occasion. I’m sure the featured photos show even nicer rooms.

We felt safe and well looked after, and the breakfast was amazing every morning. The staff were very friendly, and the location was perfect for a stay with my daughter. Our room was on the fourth floor, with no elevator, but the extra exercise helped balance out all the good food around town. I’d stay here again.

Sue at the front desk gave us excellent service as soon as we arrived. The rooms were cozy, and our bathroom was spacious. Breakfast was simple: lattes from a self-serve machine, warm croissants, and fresh fruit. The woman serving breakfast was so welcoming, though I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name. You can ask for crepes and add fresh fruit. This boutique hotel is good value with breakfast included. Paid parking is available nearby in an underground lot. It’s just inside the walls, downhill to shops and restaurants, so remember the walk back up.
