Littoral - Hotel & Spa

I’m changing my earlier 4-star review. We paid a $100 deposit that was supposed to be returned, but when I asked the hotel about it, they said we’d paid only the room price. I emailed proof from my bank showing the extra $100 payment. The person who replied said they had to pass it on to the hotel directors to check and return the deposit. I’m waiting another 48 hours, then I’ll go there in person since I’ll be back in Quebec soon. I can’t recommend this hotel. In my earlier review, I said we liked our four-night stay and had chosen a place far from the city center because we wanted quiet. The rooms were fairly large and comfortable, though the hotel felt old. The elevator seemed ancient, and we had to keep holding the button until it reached our floor. Around midnight, the fire alarm went off and there was nobody at the front desk to help. We waited about 15 minutes in the cold for firefighters to arrive and switch it off. Cleaning only happened after we left, and we ran out of toilet paper during the stay. It would’ve been helpful to get more without repeatedly going to the front desk, especially since it was in a different building from our room.

My room was spacious and clean, though being near the street meant it got noisy at times. I was in building A, and both the building key and room code worked right away. Check-in was quick and easy. The desk is open only from 07:00 to 22:00, so arriving outside those hours could make for a different experience.

Quentin, thank you for the kindness and help during our stay at Hotel Le Littoral. When we arrived and found an unexpected reservation problem, you listened calmly and patiently worked out a way for us to stay, even though the issue wasn’t the hotel’s fault. Your empathy and professionalism made a stressful situation much easier. We were also grateful for your help with the language barrier. You made us feel welcomed, supported, and respected, and we’ll remember your kindness. With gratitude, Lizette and Javier.

We had everything we needed in our big, clean room for two nights. The massage at the spa was good, too. Great value, highly recommended.
