Prestige Riverside Lodge

I was going through a really hard time with my family when I stayed here, and the staff treated me with so much kindness. Alisha at the front desk was especially wonderful. I'll always remember the compassion and care I was shown.

We chose this hotel because it was near the hospital where we had a surgery appointment. The room and the whole hotel were super clean, the bed was so comfortable, and the staff were always accommodating. They also served a nice hot breakfast. The welcome we got was amazing, and I wish every hotel stay felt like this. I'd happily come back, though the rest of quesnel sucks haha. The hotel was the only good part of our visit.

The customer service was simply excellent, and the rooms and breakfast room were nice. Alycia at the front desk was warm and welcoming every day, and manager Tracey helped with a special request.

My grandmother stayed here recently, and I can't recommend it, especially with the construction still going on and the current staff issues. There was loud work for much of the day, but when I asked why a room beside the noise cost so much, I was told, “It’s only during the day,” without any explanation or attempt to work something out. The room was missing basic things: there was no tissue paper or toilet paper, no coffee or tea refills, and no safe. We left a tip hoping the bed would be made, but got very little service. The front desk staff were kind and helpful, especially with my nana, but breakfast was upsetting. MC was short-tempered and patronizing when my nana made a small mistake at the waffle machine, saying things like “See, you didn’t put enough oil on” in a condescending way. My grandmother has worked in restaurants and felt embarrassed and hurt. Later, when she asked for HP sauce, she was spoken to rudely after being told they didn't have any. At other hotels, people have kindly tried to accommodate her. Here the response felt dismissive. Getting around on foot is another serious problem. There's no crosswalk nearby, and walking to the main part of town means following the highway shoulder for about six minutes before you can cross safely. That's concerning for seniors, people with mobility issues, and anyone without a car. I spent more time worrying about my grandmother's comfort and safety than enjoying the stay. Until the construction is done, staff are better supported and trained, and pedestrian access improves, I wouldn't recommend it, especially for seniors.
