Shades of Jade Inn and Spa

After a busy week of packing because we’d just moved, two nights with the steam sauna and hot tub were exactly what we needed in the freezing weather. I feel so lucky to have found this place. It’s the best getaway spot, even more beautiful and relaxing than it looks. Everything felt clean, calming, tasteful, and welcoming, and Sylvie was thoughtful and friendly. If you visit in winter, bring a sweatshirt or long sleeves. The room felt a little below room temperature, and the heat settings couldn’t be adjusted. It wasn’t a big deal, though. I’d definitely come back and try the massage service next time!

The area is so quiet, and Sechelt is only about a 10-15 minute drive away, which made for a really relaxing escape. My wife and I have now stayed at Shades of Jade twice for our birthdays, and we’d happily recommend it. The rooms feel luxurious and comfortable, especially the steam showers. We also loved unwinding with the massages on site.

The pictures really don’t do this place justice. We stayed in the Tea Garden suite for a few days around New Year’s, and it was just what we wanted. The directions were spot on, even on a dark, rainy evening. The suite had a steam shower, jetted tub, spa music controlled from the wall, a lovely gas fireplace, and our own private zen patio. We were blown away. We also had side-by-side hot stone massages, which were fantastic. Sylvie was a great host and went above and beyond to meet our needs. There was a breakfast basket in our suite every evening, and the breakfasts were incredible each day. This place won’t disappoint.

We first checked out Shades of Jade because of the location, and Sylvie’s hospitality and all the amenities are what keep bringing us back. We stay at least once a year, most recently in Nov 2021 and April 2022. After getting off the ferry from Vancouver, we stop at Gibson's Public Market to stock up before heading to Robert's Creek. The room has everything we need for snacks and charcuterie dinners, including a mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. It’s so relaxing being among the trees, with ambient music, a fireplace, a heated bathroom floor, a steam shower, a private balcony, comfortable bedding, and even some cards for playing games and disconnecting. The hot tub is lovely, especially on rainy evenings. The beach is a quick, peaceful stroll away. We’ll be back soon for another stay and to try the new spa facilities.
