Amante Luxury B&B

I meant to leave this after our August 2023 stay. The breakfasts were delicious, and we loved the cute, well-kept private cottage and hot tub. My fiance proposed that weekend, and when we returned to the cabin the owners had left champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries for us 🥰 The hosts were fantastic, everything was wonderful, and we can’t wait to come back.

Mandy and Karl were such kind, helpful hosts, and breakfast was really tasty. The cottage is tucked into rural saanich, but Skip can deliver there, which is handy. It’s a private spot with a two-person hot tub, and the inside is cute and rustic. Royal Oak is nearby for restaurants, and downtown Victoria is about 20 minutes away. I’d definitely return!

For our 28th anniversary, my husband surprised me with a stay in the Garden Suite. It’s a rustic little bachelor-style cottage with a double pillow-top queen bed, sink, mini fridge, stand-up shower, and private hot tub. Karl and Mandy greeted us right away, and Karl showed us around and offered keys to a golf cart for getting around the property. Mandy looked after us so well, making delicious breakfasts on both Saturday and Sunday and taking extra care with my food allergy. We really enjoyed the stay, and appreciated the fan too. Thank you, Mandy and Karl. We’ll come back some day.

My girlfriend and I live in Victoria, and we booked this for her 26th birthday in February after a great day on Salt Spring Island. We were looking forward to a private cottage and hot tub. It was dark and raining as we drove toward Amante, but around the bend the driveway and main building were beautifully done and softly lit. We messaged when we arrived, and Karl came up the driveway to greet us even though it was raining and we were a little later than 7:00PM. He was genuinely warm and made us feel welcome right away. He showed us where to take the golf cart included with the room, so we could get a feel for the 10 acres. We were lucky to be there in February, with frogs calling from a nearby creek and making it feel like we weren’t in the city. The cottage was well soundproofed, and we slept soundly. It was warm and cozy, the bed was comfortable, and the hot tub was warm too. At the breakfast nook, Mandy greeted us and checked my girlfriend’s vegan preferences. She told us SkipTheDishes could deliver, which was great after a long day, so we ordered tasty Thai food. Breakfast was amazing as well. We both had pancakes, with a vegan plate for my girlfriend. She hadn’t had pancakes in a long time, and these were especially delicious. We both work in hospitality, and I’d say breakfast was better than 90% of what you’ll find in Victoria. The photos I’m attaching show both plates, and the single shot is hers. I’d really recommend booking in the off-season. It’s cozy, and you can make the most of the property. We didn’t see much of the 10 acres because we were so happy at the cottage, but we’ll explore next time.
