The location works really well for parents coming to swim meets at the nearby pool. I’ve stayed here several times, but the front desk service has been all over the place. One tall Indian agent who wears a head covering has always been warm and helpful. The shorter Indian agent with a beard has been the opposite, and wouldn’t bend on even a small request. In early December, after a Sunday meet ran late, a few parents asked him for late checkout. He said no, pointing to his “circumstances” and many incoming reservations. This time I tried to avoid that by booking an extra night ahead, and added a second room for my son. For a four-day competition, I paid for six nights. On Sunday morning he had a last-minute Zoom meeting, so I asked if his room could have a little extra time. The same agent was at the desk and gave the same reason, saying lots of team travelers wanted late checkout and he couldn’t make an exception. Yet the whiteboard behind him showed 80-90% occupancy and a note about wanting to improve bookings. It’s frustrating that a hotel can’t show a bit of flexibility or empathy to returning guests, especially when team events bring in so much of its business. How do they expect occupancy to grow? Great spot, but the uneven service is almost laughable.

We had a really comfortable stay, and the hotel felt freshly renovated and well cared for. The room was spotless, modern, and had very cozy beds. Check-in was easy thanks to the friendly, helpful front desk team. Elk Beaver Lake Regional Park is right next door, so I enjoyed morning walks and the views. Butchart Gardens, downtown Victoria, and the airport are all a short drive away, which made getting around easy without the downtown bustle. The hotel is also pet friendly, and the seasonal outdoor pool looked inviting. We liked the on-site Lakes Restaurant Bar too. The food was delicious, the staff were attentive and warm, and breakfast had good options. Try the happy hour specials. Great value and comfort, and I’ll definitely come back to Victoria and stay here again. Thanks to the whole team.

My husband works in renovations and noticed the care in the details, including the crown molding fitting perfectly. The room itself was lovely, clean, and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable mattress. There were lots of towels, and the bathroom had a pretty light-up mirror. I also liked the big refillable pump bottles for shampoo and the other toiletries, instead of throwing away several plastic bottles every day. Parking was plentiful and check-in was friendly.

The breakfast-included package is a nice perk if you’re hungry. The menu is limited, but the choices are tasty and the servings are big. Our room was clean, quiet, and renovated, with a door out to the pool area and patio. It was still too chilly to enjoy that spot, unfortunately. The front desk team were friendly, accommodating, and efficient, and check-in was easy. Thanks for making the stay enjoyable.

We stayed for a week and really liked both the hotel and where it’s located. It’s close to the airport and ferry, with Victoria only a short drive away, and there are plenty of restaurants within five minutes by car. Our room was spacious and clean, and the restaurant had a good range of food. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful. I’d certainly recommend Holiday Inn Elk Lake.
