Maison et Jardin Monarde

The veranda was a nice place to eat, and the property is a beautiful old home in a peaceful natural setting. Still, the welcome left us feeling like we were in the way, and we definitely won't come back. When we asked to heat our food in the microwave, the owner sounded exasperated and said, "What's the matter? Everyone wants to eat!" She later suggested we take our plates to the veranda, which we appreciated. We'd contacted her after trying to book through Booking.com to check whether two rooms were available. She said they were and promised to hold them, but when we arrived, she told us two other couples had rented them. We got two different rooms for $100 and $140, plus a small cot for my daughter instead of the sofa bed we'd booked. Fortunately, I'd brought a memory foam mattress just in case, and we used it. The $240 total was very reasonable, especially since we handled our own breakfast, but the experience was disappointing.
