Hotel Spa le Suisse

I was really disappointed and felt ripped off. Even after we’d paid almost $200 to stay, they wouldn’t let us use the pool or jaccusi because they said those were only for their “spa clients.” It would have cost us more than $100 just to sit in the jaccusi for a little while. The pool is listed as an amenity, so I expected it to be included in the price.

The room was clean and everything else was fine, but the new owners were incredibly rude. The hotel is called “hotel-spa” Le Suisse, yet there’s no spa. When we asked about the spa shown in the pictures, the owners were rude, and he even called us back to tell us off while we were still staying in the room.

The massage options were superb and reasonably priced, but book ahead since they’re popular with locals as well as hotel guests. We stumbled across this modern boutique spa hotel without knowing what to expect. The photos can be misleading elsewhere, but they matched the place here. Everything was clean and modern, and we had a great stay. We especially enjoyed the sauna, steam room, hot tub, relaxation room, and small pool. The facilities are on the small side, but there were so few people that it almost felt like a private bathing experience. They reminded me of what you might find at La Scandinave. A few things could be better. The pool and spa tiles can be very slippery. There’s no cold water reservoir, just a shower and a cold waterfall, and the waterfall wasn’t working because of the very cold weather. The spa closes at 9pm on weekdays and 10pm on weekends, and 9pm felt too early for us. We requested breakfast in the room, but it was a fairly small serving for $12.50 per person: juice, a croissant, a couple of waffles, yogurt, and fruit. If you’re not in a hurry, there’s a really good breakfast spot one minute away, 8e Merveille. We came away satisfied.

The hot tub, pool, and sauna were very nice, and the staff were lovely and helpful. But the bed was so uncomfortable that we hardly slept, and we left feeling not at all relaxed. For what we paid, I expected breakfast to be included. I was really disappointed.
