La Cuillère à Pot

We keep coming back because it’s so accessible to the winter sports, and the price is fair. The building is old, but clean and functional, and the staff are kind and really accommodating. My kids had a great time on the snow slide they built.

The price was cheap, but the place felt cheap too. The room had no microwave, little room service, and the beds weren’t very comfortable without box springs. One of the two sinks didn’t work, and I got sick after brushing my teeth with the tap water. The fridge was wet with condensation and had pieces of hair in it. The old CRT television squealed, the bathroom was grungy, and the showerhead barely spread the water well. The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling by one wire. There is a pool, as advertised, but it seemed poorly maintained. The diving board was missing and its old rusty frame was still there, which looked dangerous. The parking lot was full of potholes.

We used it as a modest base for winter sports. The rustic studio was spacious, and the bathroom and shower had been renovated. The fridge, though, was so old and dirty that I didn’t want to touch it.

Gaston, the owner, made us feel welcome and was very accommodating. Our room was clean, comfortable, and affordable. A great stop for snowmobilers, and I’d recommend it.
