Auberge Les Jardins Inn

We had a great time here on our wedding night, and the maple suite was really nice. The service was excellent, too. But the Jacuzzi didn’t work, and there was just one bathrobe and one set of towels, so it felt like the room was prepared for one person. Still a great place, though the Jacuzzi issue is why I’d give it 3 out of 5 stars.

We found some random underwear in the drawer under the outdated TV, and that pushed me from 3 stars down to 2. We were in the cute little cottage #5 at the back. The other couple we came with got the comfy bed; ours badly needed replacing, and my back was wrecked the next morning. The bathroom was way too small, and with so little space I was surprised there wasn’t even a loft for luggage. The cottages aren’t worth the price, and we wouldn’t stay again.

My brother and I stopped here overnight on the way to Halifax. It was really close to the highway, the rooms were clean, and the beds were very comfy. A 10/10 experience for us. I’d definitely come back and recommend it.

We’ve stayed at Auberge Les Jardins Inn for three summers because the cottages out back work well when we travel with our dogs. They’re a bit worn and the price is on the high side, but the convenience had always felt worth it. This last visit changed that. A few days after our stay, I saw an extra charge on my credit card. The Inn told me it was because the dogs had slept on the bed, so they had to wash and dry all the bedspreads and blankets. They hadn’t slept there. They had their own queen-sized air mattress and slept on that and the floor. The cottage bed barely fit my wife and me, so there was no way two German Shepherds could have been on it too. We sent pictures of one dog on the air mattress where we stayed a few days later, and pictures from last year showing a dog on the mattress in the same cottage. When we said we were upset about being accused of something we hadn’t done and charged without being contacted first, the owner replied, “The charge is nothing personal.” No apology for charging us wrongly. We won’t be back. And shouldn’t bedspreads and blankets be washed with the sheets after every guest leaves? We don’t want to imagine what they’re like if they aren’t washed between guests.
