Motel 414

Even though I don't speak French, the sweet woman at the desk helped me get through booking a room for the night. The room was bright, clean, and quiet enough with the bathroom fan or the A/C set low for a little background noise. It had a fridge, extra pillows, a hairdryer, and complimentary soap and shampoo. I slept pretty well for a bed that wasn't mine, and we'd definitely use this motel again as a halfway stop on the way to the east coast.

It's a nice little spot with rooms that are affordable and well kept. The mom doesn't speak much English, but her son speaks it fluently. I've stayed here a few times before and will definitely come back.

The beds were firm without being too hard, and we both slept well on Thursday night. There was mold in the grout around the tub, and the tub itself ought to be replaced. Still, it was a good night's rest apart from that.

The front desk lady was lovely and helpful, which is the one bright spot. My husband, our three kids, and I call this place “the devil’s motel” now. The walls are paper thin. We could hear a couple's domestic argument until midnight, with motorcycles revving for about 45 minutes around then. The bikes seemed to make their kids run outside naked, and the fighting stopped. Dogs barking for hours on the other side of us were the icing on the cake. Unless you have no choice, don't stay here.
