Le Baluchon Éco-villégiature

There was no reason to leave the resort, and it was the cherry on top of an excellent vacation. We came to La Baluchon after Bicolline's Grande Bataille in early August, when we’d been walking 20,000-30,000 steps a day for a week. The thermal spa was a must after that: two outdoor hot tubs, a super chilly cold water tub, a cool waterfall, and a hot sauna, all with beautiful views. Book a spa time in advance; we stopped by before going to Bicolline to make sure we had a spot. There’s an excellent fine dining restaurant within walking distance at a reasonable price, but book ahead. The cafe beside it serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner more informally. We also enjoyed horseback riding during the day between spa visits. There are other activities, too, but rentals like bikes have limited supplies, so book in advance or get to the rental offices early. A much needed bit of rest and relaxation, basically a vacation from your vacation. Enjoy your stay!

We visited in winter and packed in as many activities as we could. There was so much to do! A wonderful place for a holiday or family time outdoors, with crisp air, snow, walks, and beautiful views. The food was GREAT, and we loved this place.

The room was very cozy, the food excellent, and the service really good, especially Monique at reception. The staff were lovely, and the experience felt unique and authentic. There weren’t as many activities as advertised, though we visited in their slower season. We still had a great visit and especially enjoyed hiking the beautiful trails near the river.

They charged me twice for my stay, including another charge that appeared out of nowhere two weeks later. It’s very hard to reach them to get a refund. I called, but they never got back to me. Be very careful about what they charge to your credit card. This place is a scam.
