Auberge Champetre

The receptionist, Karine, was wonderful, and her personality helped make renting the room a pleasure. I loved my stay. The room was small but very comfortable and quite clean. My only negative was that there wasn’t a flat-screen TV.

I can’t see how this place gets 3.5 stars. I’d give it minus two. We arrived, saw how run down it looked, with roof shingles curling up, and decided it needed a major facelift. The room was just as bad. The toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while, with a ring inside the bowl, and the towels had dirt marks. My wife lifted the couch cushion and found someone’s nightgown underneath. The bedding wasn’t any better. The patio doors were terrible and hard to see through, and the room fan had big dust bunnies on it. We went out for supper and booked somewhere else, which was much better.

The bed was great, and I really liked the multi-floor room and its fireplace. Bring your own eco logs. Breakfast is included, though basic.

The outside looks a little run down, but inside the rooms are clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We rented the suite, a lovely two-story room.
