Chalets Lac A la Truite

The chalets are clean and well equipped, with super comfy beds. Johanne is the best part, so sweet, knowledgeable, and helpful. It’s a great escape from everyday life. This was our first stay, but it won’t be our last.

The owners are so friendly and personable, and the team is professional. We felt welcome and right at home in one of the resort’s well-equipped chalets. There’s a lovely lawn and outdoor space by the lake for swimming, sunbathing, or just relaxing. The setting in a beautiful natural area is impressive. We’re already thinking of coming back, and highly recommend it!

The chalet looks out over Lac Truit, and the view is gorgeous morning and evening. Kayaks and paddle boats are available on the lake, and there are bike trails along Petit train du Nord and hiking trails nearby. Inside, the full kitchen comes with cooking tools, and the electric fireplace made the chalet cozy and warm. The hot tub was wonderful for soaking tired bones at the end of the day, and the sauna got really warm. Lovely place.

The service is excellent and thorough. Check-in, communication, and the rules were all straightforward, with no hidden fees. We only really saw the staff when checking in and getting the key, but they were available if we needed anything. The chalets are tucked away in a quiet, private spot, each with an unobstructed lake view and a lovely outdoor area. The city is a short drive away, with little shops, parks, waterfalls, cafes, restaurants, and boutiques. We also went to the Farmer's and Makers Market in Val-David on Saturday morning. We come at least once a year, usually as a couple, and love the chalet with a private hot tub, sauna, and jacuzzi. The place works well for couples, families, or friends, and the dog-friendly policy was what first caught my eye since our little Pomeranian goes everywhere with us. Rooms have the basics for a comfortable stay, including a full kitchen, sofa, comfy bed, and towels for indoor and spa use. Just bring clothes and food. The rustic design means there can be cobwebs or dust in the corners, which doesn't bother us, though some people may expect more cleaning detail at these prices. The rooms have been the same for a few years, and the wear and tear could use a refresh to better match the rental value. Still, the space feels inviting and warm. Excellent place and service, worth coming back to.
