Days Inn by Wyndham Ste. Helene-de-Bagot

My son enjoyed the pool while we relaxed in the hot tub, and breakfast was good too. The beds and pillows were the best ever, and our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were great, and our family had a wonderful stay. We spend a lot of time in hotels, and I honestly can’t think of anything bad to say about this place. Some poor reviews may come from people expecting perfection, since you can’t please everyone. We’ll definitely stay again. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

The location worked well, though $189 all in felt a bit pricey with a small dog. The person at the front desk wasn’t rude, but had an attitude. The room also needed some cosmetic work.

We’d stayed here before, when the rooms were clean and looked nice, but this visit was a big letdown. There was a smoke smell, and the sheets had what looked like blood on them. The outside door to our room was badly broken, almost like it had been kicked in, and bathroom ceiling tiles were lifted out of place. There was dust and spills along the lower walls and baseboards too. I paid $300 for one night. The place has really gone downhill while the prices have gone up.

It was hard to reach the reception desk by phone, and housekeeping seemed hit or miss. The fridge freezer had so much ice in it that even a thin Ziploc wouldn’t fit. There was a security guard sitting and smoking by the front entrance, which made the management’s overall lack of concern pretty apparent. Maintenance doesn’t seem to be on anyone’s list here. I’d avoid the place if at all possible.
