The view is probably one of the best in Québec, and the location is phenomenal. Staff were friendly and the desserts were amazing. The rooms felt a bit small, with too much noise, and we couldn’t adjust the thermostat.

The rooms are tiny, about 12 by 12 feet, and they don’t make that clear. The food was mediocre, and the price was extremely high. It felt only a little better than camping in the woods. I’d just drive up for the view and a few pictures, then find somewhere better to stay.

The road in is rough dirt, so think about what kind of car you’re bringing. There are lots of mosquitoes and flies too, you’ll be swatting at them the whole time. Still, the chalets have an incredible view of the lake and surrounding area, and there are some enjoyable nearby hiking trails. Plenty of activities are fairly close, and the staff were great and friendly. WiFi in the chalets would be a nice addition since it’s only available in the main building. Awesome stay overall.

The view was nice, and that was about the only upside. For nearly $400 a night, I’d go somewhere else to enjoy one. I paid $360 including tax for what I thought was a “deluxe” room with three beds and a balcony, booked through booking.com. The room we got had three beds but no balcony and was tiny. When I asked about it, the desk said the “deluxe” room booked through Booking.com doesn’t exist and blamed booking.com. They offered either that small room or a small one-bed room with a balcony. I chose the one-bed room for the view, but they wouldn’t refund the difference. Online, that room goes for around $270. Their explanation was that the three-bed room is “for families with kids,” so they don’t charge extra for it. That logic makes no sense to me. Booking.com told me the hotel provides the room information. I spent an hour on the phone after arriving while they tried to sort things out, but the hotel wouldn’t cooperate. Booking.com gave me a $36 in-app credit as a goodwill gesture. For $360 we got one double bed, a shared balcony, no AC, no WiFi in the room, no mini fridge, and a coffee machine without pods. To get pods, we had to go back to the front desk, which wasn’t within walking distance of our site. The service also felt pretentious. I never leave reviews, so taking the time to write this says something. We arrived with medium expectations, but my advice is to set them very low. I heard from locals that the hotel is for sale, which doesn’t surprise me. I hope new owners focus on customer service, kindness, honesty, and accurate advertising.
