The chalet and grounds are beautiful, and there’s plenty of space, but the upkeep really let it down. The finishes were poor, with holes and drafts from bad insulation. We also found mouse droppings downstairs, and the septic tank hadn’t been emptied, leaving sewage smells in the bedrooms and the rest of the chalet. The owner told us after our second night that he already knew about both problems. We hadn’t been warned before the stay or when we arrived. The photos don’t show the property’s actual condition.

After two days here, we left extremely disappointed. The owner’s welcome was cold and barely there, and for a chalet meant for families, the condition was unacceptable. There were loose electrical wires, leaking and badly fitted faucets, exposed insulation, boarded-up windows, and bedding in very poor shape. The dishes were dirty, and the outside area felt dangerous. The place needs a lot of maintenance.

The rest of our stay was pleasant, and the chalet has a lovely rustic feel. We arrived to a cold place, though, since the heat comes from a wood stove and the rental didn’t include firewood.
