It's an old hotel, with all the history that comes with that, and I stayed during the off season. The rooms have been redone and are clean. The hosts were some of the nicest people I've ever met. It's just what you'd expect, an old hotel from yesterday, not the Carleton Ritz.

The rooms are spacious, super clean, and have great views, with plenty of parking too. The place is beautiful, well built, and well maintained. The owners are great and can share their knowledge of the area, including sights and attractions to visit while you're staying.

I've stayed at the Inn four or five times and enjoyed every visit. Dorothy and Mike are such friendly, likeable owners, and staying there almost feels like being guests in their own home. My only beef is that after several years of renovating and running the Inn, they've decided to sell and head back to the coast. I need to fit in another visit or two in 2025. Stuart Macadam

The Lower Island Riding Club group of motorcyclists from Victoria BC stayed for a night about a month ago, and I'm really glad I was along. The Inn is a hidden gem. My room at the front had a balcony with a great view of the trains. It was clean, comfortable, and cozy, and the bathroom was surprisingly large and very clean. Dorothy and Mike welcomed me and my riding friends warmly. They know a lot about the area's history, and even drove us to the local Pub and picked us up. Staying in a 150 year old former train station with two really nice owners was well worth the cost. Light sleepers should know the trains out front run day and night, and ear plugs are provided. The rumbling woke me, but after a couple of minutes I fell back asleep. That's part of the charm for me. When the Lower Island Riding Club rides through here again, I'm sure we'll stay, or I may come back on my own and stay longer than one night.

Homemade breakfast and coffee were a welcome treat, and the whole stay was a unique, awesome experience. The place is clean, comfortable, and cozy. Mike and Dorothy are wonderful humans who went above and beyond. This is a real gem, and I'd stay again in a heartbeat.
