Hotel St-Bernard

After a long day driving, the last thing I wanted was to be hassled about parking. I had a disagreement with the desk manager over where to leave my vehicle, and better communication from that staff member could have avoided the conflict. I think some management changes would help make this Best Western excellent. As it is, I'd rate it good overall.

Kids can make this a great hotel, but it wasn't very quiet. Starting around 5am, I was woken several times by children knocking on the walls and ceiling from the floor above. In the middle of the night, some alarm, maybe a door alarm, went off for a while before someone fixed it. The staff were lovely and kind, and the hotel itself is great.

The hotel and pool were very nice, but dinner at the restaurant was a disaster. Our table of seven waited over an hour despite the place not being busy. Some food was wrong, and a few people never got their meal. We were told ribs and other menu items were unavailable, then saw other diners order and receive ribs an hour later. My food arrived only after everyone else had finished, so I ate alone while my husband took our exhausted kids to bed. When I asked for a discount, they said I had to pay full price because I'd eaten the meal. Very poor customer service. Eat at the truck stop across the road instead, the food and service there were awesome.

After hours on the road, this place really makes our day. We love the tasty burgers, the hotel and dining area, and the nice menu with a good selection of beers. Service was excellent, and the manager was nice.
