By The Bay Cottages

It was such a calm, comforting place to spend the summer, and the beachy feel made me feel right at home. The cottage was cozy, clean, and beautifully looked after. I loved my stay and really didn’t want to leave. I’d happily recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

The managers were nice enough, and I enjoyed the pool, though my husband found it much too cold. As a morning swimmer, I was frustrated that the cover sometimes stayed on until late morning or even the afternoon. We also liked walking the boardwalk along the road and watching the seabirds. PEI itself is beautiful, and we had a good time there, but I’m not sure I’d return to this accommodation. We stayed in September 2025 and were disappointed by our cabin’s position. There was a driveway on one side, and from the deck we faced the back of another cabin. The photos had led us to expect a water view. The cottage was basic, with small essentials missing, like coffee filters and tea towels. Some curtain rods were bent or broken, and using the toilet meant sitting sideways. A tub in the bedroom by itself didn’t make it feel like a honeymoon suite.

We had a very clean, quiet stay in cottage #4 with the family. It was spacious and had a welcoming feel, with beaches and the National park nearby. The city was about a 30-minute drive for groceries.

We were comfortable in Cottage 4 and thought it was good value, so we may come back now that we know what to expect. The owners had just opened for the season during our two-night stay, and a few things weren’t quite right. The cottage was clean when we arrived, but something had been left in the oven and nearly caused a fire when we turned it on. Some devices had trouble connecting to the wifi, and the TV/Fire Stick wouldn’t connect at all. We asked staff for help with it, but they never got it working.
