Comfort Inn

Thanks for a stress-free weekend. The staff were awesome, greeting us with a wave and hello and making friendly small talk. The coffee bar was good, which I appreciated in the morning, and everything worked well for us. The room was clean, and getting extra towels was a nice surprise. We’ll stay again.

I couldn’t close the curtains all the way, and I’d suggest letting some fresh air into the room, especially in winter. Apart from those small issues, the towels in the bathroom were really clean and breakfast was good. I had a good stay and would book here again.

Trish at the front desk made our stay. She was caring, funny, friendly, helpful, and full of personality, a real asset to the hotel. Check-in was quick and painless, the rooms were clean, and the bed and bedding were really comfortable.

I was left outside in a snowstorm for almost an hour, unable to get help right away, after a driver dropped me at what I later learned was the back entrance of the Canadian border building. He parked at a restaurant, walked me to an unmarked door, told me to ring the bell, left my bags on the sidewalk, then hurried back to his car. I was at the wrong place and wasn’t allowed into that building. At 66, with a large hockey bag without wheels, a large suitcase, a carry-on, and my personal bag, I couldn’t manage everything myself. A legitimate taxi company eventually sent someone to collect me. I’d asked the gentleman behind the counter at Comfort Inn in Fort Erie, Ontario, for a taxi to take me to the United States border so I could clear my product through USA customs. He gave me numbers he recommended, displayed on an acrylic sign at the front desk. The vehicle that arrived was decrepit, unmarked, filthy, and rusted out. Its gas tank was taped shut, the check engine light was on, the fuel gauge didn’t work, and things on the dash were taped together. It wasn’t marked as a taxi or an Uber. The driver said his name was Charlie. Why would Comfort Inn align itself with third-party taxi companies that put people in danger? That’s my question. They put my life in danger! Thank goodness for Lexi at your front desk, who gave me the taxi company’s contact number. I was sobbing when I called the hotel for help. The photo shows where I was left and some of my bags.
