A lovely stop in Tadoussac. The host was welcoming, the lodging felt warm and homey, and breakfast was delicious, served with a smile. It’s a perfect place to feel at home in Canada.

The guesthouse is tucked into a quiet area, just a two-minute drive from the town centre. The hostess was friendly, the beds were comfortable, and both the room and shared bathrooms were clean.

The homemade breakfast was just right, especially her trio of French toast and homemade jams, which were to die for. The cottage isn’t downtown, but it’s an easy five-minute drive and well placed for whale watching in Bergeronnes. Monette was kind and discreet, one of our most wonderful encounters in Quebec so far. Her cottage is beautifully decorated, and the rooms are simple but practical. There are two renovated bathrooms, so there’s no morning queue, though with just three of us that day it wasn’t an issue. Sadly, our stay was very brief, but it’ll stay in our hearts for a long time.
