The owner gave us a warm welcome and explained what we could and should see in the region. Her recommendations were right on: at every place she suggested, we saw lots of whales and seals, and even some dolphins. We had a lovely three-night stay at the end of September, and are already planning to return to Tadoussac and stay at Gîte du Goeland again. The room was super tidy, and the kitchen view was amazing. We shared the kitchen with five other people, a couple from France and three visitors from Ottawa. They were all really nice, and we had great stories and interesting evening conversations. Thanks so much for having us. Hope to see you soon, and stay safe and healthy.

The beds were nice, but seven of us felt a bit cramped even though we’d been told there was space for 10. The toilets and baths were clean and alright, but small. With three bedrooms and the option to turn the living room into another bedroom, I’d recommend it for a group of 4-6. The owner and family were very nice and showed us hidden spots around Tadoussac as well as suggesting places to visit.

The welcome was the one good part, but we felt like intruders. The place creaked everywhere, with just two shared toilets for five rooms and a shared kitchen that was often full. It was very expensive for what it was. The bed was so soft that I ended up with back pain. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’ve made a bad decision and are only staying one night.

The cottage and its bathroom, room, and shared spaces all felt clean and new. We were there as a couple for two nights. One thing to know: the all-wood construction creaks a lot when you walk, which could bother light sleepers at night. Still, it didn't take away a star for me.
