We’ve been to the Mill about six times, and the river and park view from the spacious booths is lovely. The menu has plenty to choose from without being overpriced. Our server was great and very apologetic, and she gave us a discount on the prime rib dinner, which we hadn’t expected. My mom’s carbonara tasted really good, though it cooled quickly. I ordered prime rib, as I often do, and it looked great but was barely lukewarm. I sent it back, then sent it back again when the replacement potato was piping hot but the meat was still cool. They brought a whole new plate, and both the meat and potato were warm rather than hot. I ate it anyway, and it tasted great. I’m not sure why the food wasn’t hot, but heated plates might help keep both meals warm longer.

We visit the Mill three or four times a year, usually for a birthday or another special occasion. This time we celebrated the coming arrival of our first grandchild with our daughter and future son in law. During her pregnancy she’s had allergic reactions to dairy and beef, and our server, Chantelle, was told about it. Her meal was made exactly as requested. We’ve always enjoyed the food here, served on time without making us feel rushed. Chantelle was great, with a good sense of humour. Thanks to her for the lovely service, and we hope she gets to Punta Cana soon. We highly recommend the place.

The view was beautiful, and the Mill was a great choice for lunch while we were in Tillsonburg for a friend’s 65th birthday. Three friends had recommended it, and I’m glad we listened. The birthday girl, another friend, and I all ordered the fish and chip special, and it was delicious. As a farmer, I really appreciated the local ingredients, including Baden coffee and meat from Norpac. Victoria was friendly and attentive at just the right moments. We finished with turtle cheesecake. I can’t wait to go back with my husband. Tillsonburg has a gem here.

We’d enjoyed our meals here before, but the prices have gotten ridiculous and we won’t be back for a very long time. The food was okay, just not worth the money. When my husband and I both swapped fries for soup, we were charged an extra $4.50 each. That was a shock, especially since the soup bowls weren’t large. The waitress could have told us about the charge. Our server was nice, though she seemed a bit off her game. She also should have asked our friend whether he wanted his pie heated, especially after I asked if he wanted ice cream with it. It wasn’t even busy despite the snowfall.

I stopped in for an early dinner and ordered soup as an appetizer, but it never arrived. I asked for it to be taken off the bill after the server forgot it. The chicken souvlaki wasn’t impressive, even though I usually love it elsewhere. The chicken was dry but seasoned well, and the rice was dry and clumped together. The side was meant to be Greek salad, but there was so little of it, and mostly cucumber, that I’d call it cucumber salad. There wasn’t much feta, though there were enough olives. I wouldn’t order this again. It seemed overpriced for what I got.
