Grand Motel

They were understanding when I got up late about the checkout time, and I was glad to have a little fridge and microwave in the clean room. The staff are really friendly, too. They helped me find a room at the last minute, and I’ve come back several times since when I needed one.

My room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the WiFi was fast and reliable during my 14-day quarantine after returning to Canada. The staff were friendly and efficient, and brought clean linens, towels, and supplies like toilet paper within minutes of my asking. The kitchenette’s fridge and microwave worked perfectly, and they provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay. If quarantine is still required the next time I travel, I’ll 100% stay here again.

The room was badly stuffy, and the curtain was damaged. After I’d paid almost 100 CAD for the night, I reported it to the woman at reception. She said it wasn’t a big deal and told me to fix it myself instead of calling her. She spoke disrespectfully and left the room door open at night. I’d planned to extend after staying one night, but the reception service was very disappointing. I’m sure the woman is a salaried employee, and she wouldn’t have treated us that way if she owned the business. Management or the owner needs to address this.

The rooms are very nice, the area is nice, and the staff are good people. The female staff member at the front desk during the day is excellent, and the evening staff are nice too. If you need help in the evening, ring the office doorbell. They’re understanding about problems. I feel safe, though a mobile patrol could walk past the rooms in the evening to check for disturbing noise, then come back every hour until around 2am. Odd problems can happen with other guests who check in. Four stars for the good staff and rooms.
